Residents in Milton can apply for both short term and extended parking exceptions for street parking.

Short term parking exceptions

You can get a temporary street parking exception if you or a guest needs to park on the street for more than five hours or overnight between the hours of 2-6 a.m. We will only grant you a maximum of 25 street parking exceptions per license plate, per year.

Parking exception terms and conditions

Street parking exceptions allow temporary on-street parking for residents who are having driveway repairs, special functions or out-of-town guests. Parking exceptions provide an exemption to the maximum five hour street parking and no parking from 2-6 a.m. by-laws. All other parking by-laws remain in effect. The application fees for parking exception requests are non-refundable and parking exceptions may be revoked at any time. Please do not submit your application unless you meet all of the conditions listed.

Ineligible vehicles

Street parking exceptions will not be granted for commercial vehicles over 6.7 metres in length or 2.6 metres in height.

Exceptions will not be granted for school buses, commercial coaches, derelict vehicles, unlicensed vehicles (including vehicles with expired validations stickers) or immobile trailers.

Snow clearing

During snow clearing operations, the Town of Milton has the right to suspend street parking exceptions. Parking exceptions obtained online are null and void during snow clearing operations. Your vehicle is never permitted to obstruct snow removal. Visit the Town's Twitter and Facebook pages for regular updates.
