Place of worship – 1456 Bronte St. S.

Town File:  Z-12/21

Located on the west side of Bronte Street South, north of the Etheridge Avenue extension, this application is seeking amendments to the Town’s Zoning By-law to facilitate the development of a place of worship with a prayer hall, multi-purpose community hall, library and other ancillary uses.

Current status 

A recommendation report will be presented to Town Council at a meeting scheduled for Monday, March 4 2024.  Interested parties have been notified.  A copy of the staff report can be found on the Council Agenda, when published.

This meeting is open to the public; however, it is not a statutory public meeting pursuant to the Planning Act.  Anyone wishing to speak to this report is required to register as a delegate with the Town Clerk

Milton Land Four Investments Inc. – Tremaine Road south of Derry Road

Town File: 24T-23001/M

Located on the west side of Tremaine Road, south of Derry Road, this application is proposing the first phase of the lands to facilitate the development of a long term care retirement facility.

Current status

The applicant has submitted a draft plan of subdivision and is currently under technical review.

The Province of Ontario introduced changes to the Planning Act under Bill 23, the More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022, plans of subdivision applications no longer require statutory public meetings.

Shadybrook and Stevenson Developments - Bronte St. S.

Town Files: 24T-14012/M & Z-17/14

Located on Bronte Street South, the Shadybrook and Stevenson development application includes a rezoning application and Shadybrook draft subdivision proposal for a subdivision with 366 units.

Current status

 This development is currently on hold due to the Allocation Program.

Mattamy (Milton West) Limited – Britannia Road and Regional Road 25

Town Files: Z-02/18

The applicant, Mattamy (Milton West) Limited, has resubmitted an updated planning application with changes to the original concepts. The applicant is seeking an amendment to the Town of Milton Zoning By-law 016-2014, as amended, to rezone the subject lands from the current future development zone to a site-specific mixed use zone. The resubmitted application has been made to facilitate the development of eight buildings ranging in height from 12 to 15 storeys, which contain 1,768 residential units and approximately 929 square metres of ground floor commercial uses.

Current status

The revised application is now undergoing technical review by the Town and agencies. No decision has been made regarding this application.

Public consultation

Public meetings were held on Aug. 27, 2018, Sept. 11, 2023 and Oct. 23, 2023, where the community was invited to gather information, identify possible issues, and share feedback on the applications.

The developer is hosting a Public Information Centre on Feb. 20, 2024 from 6.30-8.00 p.m. at the Elsie MacGill Secondary School. Residents and interested parties will be notified by mail. There will be a presentation followed by a question and answer period. Town Planning staff will be in attendance but no formal staff presentation will be provided by staff. 2376439 Ontario Inc. is proposing to rezone the lands from the current future development zone to the mixed-use with site specific provisions. The applicant is intending to construct an eight storey long term care home with retail and office uses at grade on these lands.
